Throughout my testimonial season I will be writing about anything and everything that takes my fancy and I am also allowing you to ask me questions on any subject you like. Please send your questions to my webmaster and then keep checking on here to see if I have answered your question. Obviously due to time constraints I can't answer every question but will endevour to get through as many as possible.

Friday 20th July 2007 - Some random Questions

Thankfully we have some bodies back on duty now and the results are going our way. On the back of 2 good wins we go to Hull KR on Sunday looking to keep hat good form going and make it 3 on the bounce although going to Hull is never easy. I look forward to eeingyou all there.

Did you realise you had now surpassed 100 league tries in the game against Perpignan.

I only found out after the game that i had scored my 100th try it was really good felling knowing that i had reached that milestone

What are your thoughts about Kevin Penny’s rise to prominence. Is this form luck or is he really as good as he has been looking. What are the senior players doing to keep his feet on the floor?

no kevs really playing well at the moment it is no fluke that he is playin so well because he trains very hard his pace is there for all to see the seniour players keeps his feet on the ground by making him make us coffee clean our boots and also clean our cars.

Warrington fans have been raving all week about the hit that Adrian Morley put in on Erol Crabtree, How good was it really. Does it rank in your top 10 big hits from Warrington players in games that you have been involved in. Can you recall 5 of those hits.

mozzers hit on crabtree was really big and at a important stage of the game i cant recall my top 5 hits but will say little gleese is the biggest hitter pound for pound i have played with

Joey Johns is coming back over and is guest speaker at your testimonial dinner next month, has anything that he brought in when he was over here to play with us stuck with the team and still used leading upto a game now.

no the team doesnt do anything that Andrew Johns did but im sure certain players do

Nat Wood was reputed to be a massive joker in his time at Warrington, recount your favourite story for us.

The funniest one is wen we played in London and we were staying in hotel jerome was rooming with nat and about 4 in morning jerome went to the toillet in the dark an when he was returning to his bed nat suddunly jummped out on him and jerome neally had heart attcke thats just one of many

Monday 21st May 2007 - My Computer has been bust!

Hi everyone, sorry it has been a while since I wrote my last blog, my computer has been in for repair because we got a virus.

Well since I did my last blog the mood in the camp is a lot different as all of the injuries have cleared up. The whole team really enjoyed the experience at Cardiff and I thought our performance was something like we know we can play. I thought the supporters that travelled to support Warrington where by far the noisiest over the two days but that’s normal for our super fans.

Following that we played Barrow in the Challenge Cup and much credit to them, they played well and made a real go of it even in atrocious conditions. The plus from Warrington’s point of view was that we came through the game without further injury. We have since been drawn against Saints in the Challenge Cup quarter final which will be tough but if you want to win these competitions then you have to beat the best.

We played Harlequins at the weekend and the result wasn’t what we wanted and we need to work hard next week in the lead up to the Saints Game. With a packed house we would appreciate all of your vocal support; it really gives us a lift.

I have done some coaching over the last couple of weeks with Ryland’s U11s and Crosfield Cobras u12’s the week before they won their final in Blackpool. I would be more than happy to come down to your team and do a coaching session, please drop an email to the Webmaster and we will see what we can sort for you.

I have to go now, got some big walls to climb. Hopefully next time you hear from me we will have another 2 points on the table and be looking forward to doing the double over Saints and knocking them out of the cup. I am looking frward to seeing some of you at my Comedy Curry night on Friday and also at the Fans Forum in Culcheth in a couple of weeks time.

Wednesday 4th April 2007 - I hate missing Emmerdale and Corrie

Hello again everyone, at the time of writing this post on Tuesday I have just come through my first training session back from injury unscathed and I am really pleased as it means that providing I get the medical clearance I can play again on Friday!
Once again I was pleased to see the boys perform in my absence, I would have been gutted if we didn’t get the result. Slightly concerned about Benny Westwood and his disciplinary this week, I know you have all been discussing it but believe me even Rumploe Stiltskin couldn’t get him off that charge.

We are really having a tough time with injuries at the moment with another 3 bodies sat in the stands this week it makes things tough but it does give some of the youngsters a chance to come in and show what they are made of. I am sure our luck will change soon.
This week sees us away at Salford who we had an absolute mare of a season against in 2006 with last years corresponding fixture being regarded as Black Friday, let’s hope we can put that to rest this week and then go well against Huddersfield on Monday.

Finally lots more discussions have been happening about future events for my Testimonial, I have a golf tournament next Wednesday and we have some more Q&A nights planned and a couple of comedy and curry nights in the pipeline. I was gutted however, I forgot to Sky+ Emmerdale and Coronation street, I only went and missed the trial results!!

Questions

Hi Rachel here one of your biggest fans! Well done on your testimonial year I'm glad you spent it with us.  I enjoyed the Q and A night last Tuesday I've got a few great photos of you and me, did you enjoyment it? You looked like you were day dreaming through most of it lol
I've been trying to think of a question to ask you all week so here goes...

Who got you first into ruby league? Also was any of your family members rugby league players?

Thanks for taking the time to read my e-mail I know how busy you must be training! Can’t wait till Sunday to watch us win! Hope to see you against Hull KR, get well soon

Rachel Walker

Rachel, Thanks for attending my Q&A, I really enjoyed it. I started playing rugby with a few friends when I was Four, they where a few years older than me at 8 but I used to go with them however I wasn’t allowed to play until I was 6. One of my Brothers was a really good full back and played amateur to a good standard. My brother in law Craig Hall made his debut for Hull FC at the weekend and scored 34 points.

Hi Lee, we all know that many sports people have superstitions and rituals that they go through before they play. In your ten years with Warrington have you developed any?

Darren Whitfield

Darren, to be honest I don’t know of anyone at Warrington or if there are I haven’t noticed. I will keep my eye out in the dressing room and if I spot any I will post the info on here.

Lee, I am just wondering do you still keep in touch with any of the guy’s that used to play for Warrington and if you do what do you get upto? Good luck with your testimonial year, I hope it goes well for you!

Saza

Saza, I keep in touch with Nat Wood and Alfie Langer but unfortunately they are too far away for us too see each other. Over here I play rugby with 2 ex Warrington players Dean Busby and Mike Nicholas. My kids go to the same school as Alan Huntes and Ian Pikavances so I see them as well.

On the 27th of October Wales are set to play Scotland in a game Wales must win by 8 points or more to automatically qualify for the world cup, on the very same day Great Britain host New Zealand in the first test of the series.

Knowing that you are very keen to represent GB, is your main aim for the off-season to get Wales into the world cup or to represent GB?

Jordjtr

Hi Jordjtr, That is a really difficult question, my heart says Wales but my head says GB. I suppose I will have to see what happens I have to have a good season with Warrington to put myself in contention for either first.

Tuesday 20th March 2007 - RIP Sheila Roberts

Hello everyone, it’s been a real emotional week at the club. First I was so proud to be holding my first testimonial event which went very well and I would like to thank everyone who came along. If anyone has any suggestions for events that will make me a load of money lol then please get in touch.

In the space of a day I went from that massive high to a desperate low on the news that Sheila Roberts had sadly passed away. Our She as she was affectionately known by all the players was a wonderful woman who was absolutely Warrington through and through. Good night, god bless Sheila, we will miss you but never forget you.

Onto the game against Hull KR, I was absolutely gutted that I couldn’t take part; it will be around another 3 weeks before I am fit again. I thought sat watching the game that the boys were awesome. Ben Westwood, Mike Wainwright and Baby Gleeson were immense. A lot of the lads had to play out of position and did very well, I am well chuffed with the result. What about Ben Westwood kicking? I will have to keep an eye on him, he will be going for 40/20’s next!

2 Questions came through to me this week, the questions and my responses follow.

Lindsey Floyd asked: Well done for your 10 years at Warrington Wolves If you did not play for Warrington Wolves who would you want to play for? lots of good luck for the rest of the season

Thanks very much, I have loved every minute of my time at Warrington. I am so passionate about Warrington that if I couldn’t play here I would have to either go to the NRL or play Union. I just can’t see myself playing for any other Super League Club.

Unknown asked: Lee, I`m not sure if you have any sort of trade from when you were younger. So the natural progression for a player of your standing is coaching. A bit premature I know but with you supporting Saints I`m sure you wouldn`t mind having another crack there. So please could you assure all Wire fans that we would have 1st refusal for your services. Good luck for the rest of your testimonial year. Enjoy. Come on the Wire

When I finished school I was a carrot picker, I definitely don’t want to do that again. You are correct, coaching would be an obvious choice, I am already putting things in place to help me and I have an excellent mentor in Paul Cullen. It goes without saying that Warrington would have first refusal however hopefully that is a long way off, these legs are still young.
